The LGCR Golf Course by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer
The Legends Golf course designed by 3 architects Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Yet, only the jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer track completed. The first 9-holes Jack Nicklaus golf course was opened in April 1997. Then the 18-holes Jack Nicklaus track was fully opened for members on July 1, 1997. While the 9-holes Arnold Palmer course opened on April 19, 2009, at Sedenak, Kulai, Johor resort.
The 27-holes golf course was designed with international championship golf courses standard. That makes it more unique unlike any other golf courses in Malaysia. Challenging landscape for both amateur and professional golfers also a scenic tropical landscape will welcome you in the LGCR golf course.
The par 72, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus track ranked the Number One Golf Course in Johor in 1998, 1999 and 2001 by The Business Times. The 6,710 meter course was also ranked in the first position for golf courses in Johor by the Organization of Asian Amateur Golfers (OAAG) in 2002/2003. In 2002, The Legends Golf and Country Resort (Jack Nicklaus) course also rated the top three golf courses in Asia by the Asian Golf Monthly.
The LGCR Golf Course Characteristic
Each hole in The Legends Golf and Country Resort Nicklaus course has a different character and challenge with views onto the palm oil plantation. From the back tees, there are a number of holes that bending around lakes, crossing ridges or toward distant shelves where the other troubles are located. Par 5-6 becomes the signature where you have to play from an elevated tee.
The back-nine provides a very scenic view with much stiffer atmosphere. Every tee shot from par-4 11th through to the par-4 17th threatens by water hazards. Some of these holes located in the most breathtaking scenery you’ll encounter in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the LGCR Palmer Course was built strategically, so it can be seen from the clubhouse. The rolling hills, numerous streams and mature palm oil trees make this course look like a matured course that built decade ago.Three esthetic components that become the focus of the overall Palmer Course design are the fairways, the transition between fairways and the buggy trail next to the holes.
The Legends Golf Course Facilities
Not only it’s interesting contour. The Legends Golf also offers top-class facilities. Spacious 110,000 square foot tropical style clubhouse offers a comfortable space to rest. Changing rooms, pro shop, sauna, jacuzzis and halal legends Court Chinese Restaurant can be found in the clubhouse.
There are also driving range designed by Jack Nicklaus, putting green, beginner’s course, swimming pool, a pool table, reading & recreation room, lake fishing, mountain biking and the Legends Terraces.
