The BRI Junio Pondok Indah International Junior Championship seems to be an exciting event considering the number of its participants. The tournament held on December 19 to 21, 2017 will be held at two representative golf courses, Pondok Indah Golf Course and Senayan National Golf Course, Jakarta. The 6th tournament was attended by 168 junior golfers divided into A – F groups. The A – C class followed by 120 participants and the D class competed in Senayan National Golf course followed by 48 participants.
The number of countries participating in this tournament was more than the previous year which only followed by 10 countries. This time, the BRI Junio Pondok Indah International Junior Championship followed by 15 countries. They are Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Taipei, South Korea, India, Australia, Ireland, Finland, Sweden and France. Indonesia at least represented by 101 athletes in this prestigious annual event.
Given the 2018 Asian Games are also held at the same venue, the BRI Junio PII JGC seems to be a warming up before the Asian Games next year. This is also stated by the Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Vice Chairman of the Junior Club Committee of Pondok Indah Golf, Ronny Titiheruw. Ronny stated that the BRI Junio PII JGC will be a good rehearsal for the athletes of 2018 Asian Games participants. This event becomes a good signal because the participants looking at this championship seriously.

BRI Junio Golf Tournament Being Held Separately
This is the first time two golf courses are used in the Pondok Indah International Junior Championship. In this championship, 7 to 10 years participants will perform in the Senayan National Golf course. The A to C class participants are golfers who have met the upper limit of USGA Handicap Index. To support the participant’s convenience, the committee limits the number of 13 groups per tee/session and prohibits the use of Distance Measuring Device (DMD). Instead, each participant will get a free yardage book from the exact same committee as the Indonesia Open 2017. The committee also accommodates beginner golfers by increasing the amount of par at Senayan National Golf course from par 69 to par 72.
As the ultimate event of junior competition throughout 2017, BRI Junio Pondok Indah International Junior Championship is expected to present an interesting competition between qualified junior golfers and not as a trial and error event.
