The First Womens Senior Golf Tournament in the World

For the first time, the world’s first womens senior golf tournament will be held. The U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship is scheduled to be held in July. USGA promises that this tournament will be an exciting competition for both players and audiences. This latest competition offers a considerable reward of around $ 1 million. The U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship will be one of fourteen national tournaments held by the U.S. Golf Association.

It is open to female golfers whose 50th birthday on or before the first day of competition begins and holds a handicap index not exceeding 7.4. As for the inaugural ceremony will be held at Chicago Golf Club, Wheaton, Illinois, on 12 to 15 July 2018. There will be at least 120 players, both amateurs and professional golfers who will compete in the tournament that carries the 72-hole stroke-play concept.

With a total prize of $ 1 million makes this tournament as the richest womens senior golf tournament. Majority of tournaments that offer great prizes are men’s golf tournaments or women’s golf tournaments. In comparison, the men’s senior LPGA Championship that held last year only offered a total prize of $ 600,000. Men’s senior golf tournament, the U.S. Senior Open provides a reward of $ 4 million. Other tournaments such as the U.S. Women Open Championship which followed 156 players and consists of 72 holes offering a total prize of $ 4 million.
