Golf Putting Technique To Win The Game
- Learn to Observe The Green
When you’re doing a putting, please don’t rely to much on caddies. Try to learn to trust your own abilities by paying attention to the green slope, the pond, the lower part, downhill or uphill to take into account when considering the ball’s speed on the putting path.
- Visualize the Putting Path
When about to do a stroke, visualize the ball path into the hole. Recall the path you have plotted, before executed the ball and forgot where the hole is. As a guide to the direction of your putting direction, you can choose a point approximately 5 cm in front of the ball.
- Doing the Right Putting Technique
Doing a stable putting is not easy for the golfer, sometimes they hit the ball too hard instead of rolling it. Whereas how to do the right putting is by rolling the ball, not hit it.
Rolling the ball with the same forward and backward swing range makes the ball roll with minimal spin. If you still have a trouble, you can do a putting by doing these following steps:
- Positioning the putter
Put the end of the putter in front of the ball or slightly tilted forward and lead to the target. To warm up and reduce the tension before putting on, you can flick the putter while lifting the putter head about 1 cm above the ground. - The grip
When holding the putter, positioned both thumbs aligned on the golf club and use the palm to grip the putter. Some of the golfers with left-hand dominance like to grip the putter tightly on the left hand and give the lighter grip on the right hand. This technique makes the left side of the body becomes the center of the stroke. - Rolling the ball
Putting is done by rolling the ball instead of hitting it, so the ball can roll smoothly follows the putting path until it enters the hole. Do not bend your wrist. Push the ball using your palm.
When going to roll the ball, make sure the forward swing is longer than the backswing. If the hole is too far away, you can extend the backswing and the downswing. Calculate your strength, so the ball can get to the target easily, not losing the power so it stops before reaching the hole.
