- Tee Shot
The tee shot is the first shot made by a golfer from a teeing ground (the starting point to hit the ball that is directed towards the hole). Golfers usually use a driver to do this shot. Driver clubs such as 1-wood is often used for long distance shot, while for short distance shot they used iron club.
- Fairway Shot

As for the medium range shot up to 160 meters, golfers usually use an iron for high accuracy shooting. There are golfers who use wood or hybrid clubs to do a fairway shot with a distance of more than 160 meters. Iron 3- 9, wood 3, wood 5, hybrid 3, hybrid 4 and hybrid 5 are some types of golf clubs that often used in this golf shot technique.
- Bunker Shot
If the ball falls in the bunker area, then the bunker shot is the right golf shot technique. Bunker shot is a short-to-medium shot aimed to bring the ball closer to the green area. Type of clubs used to perform this shot is usually sand wedge club.
- Approach Shot
An approach shot is a short to medium shot with the aim to make the ball closer with the green. There are three approach shots that are known in golf that is pitch shot, flop shot and chip shot. Pitch shot technique is done by hitting the ball as if the ball has a high trajectory so it could fall near the hole. Common iron club type 6 to lob wedge are often used to perform this shot.
Flop shot technique is quite similar to pitch shot technique. The difference is the goal of this technique to hit the ball high so it can stop immediately right after reaching the ground. Usually, this shot used to avoid obstacles like water hazards and bunkers. Golfers usually use a wedge or sand wedge club when doing this shot. Meanwhile, chip technique is a golf shot technique that aims to produce a low approach shot where the ball has a short trajectory. This technique makes the ball flying very low and then roll toward the hole.
- Putting
Putting is a golf shot technique that is executed using a putter. The purpose of this shot is to make the ball roll smoothly on the green down into the hole. Many golfers think this putting technique is the hardest shooting technique in golf so it needs constant practice to get it right.
- Shot/Knockdown
When faced with strong winds or tree branches, golfers usually do a low golf shot or knockdown to avoid such obstacles.
