The OB Golf Invitational – ADT 2018 event that held at Gunung Geulis Country Club on 21 – 24 March 2018 received remarkable acclaim from both local and international golfers. The tournament which gives a total prize worth US $ 70,000 or IDR. 945 million were attended by 60 players consisting of 41 international professional golfers, 14 local professionals and 5 amateur golfers.
As a Qualification for Asian Games 2018
As the first stop of the Asian Development Tour (ADT 2018) this season, Indonesia fielded Indonesian Male Golf Team for the 2018 Asian Games consisting of Naraadjie Emerald, Kevin Akbar, Rifki Alam, Almay Rayhan and Tirto Tamardi (minus Jonathan Wiyono).
The tournament becomes part of periodization programs conducted by the PB PGI. Periodization program is implemented to improve the golfer performance so they can play their best game in the Asian Games in August 2018. The periodization program is also used as a selection of the national team earlier June.
ADT 2018 Ends at Hole 54 Because of Heavy Rain
Rain is the only problem in the last OB Golf Invitational tournament – ADT 2018 in Bogor. This prestigious golf competition had to be stopped repeatedly because of heavy rain in Mount Geulis Golf and its surroundings.
Rain also started at the final on the fourth day, Saturday (24/3/2018). For the umpteenth time the game should be postponed when the golfers who pass the cut-off have not finished their game. At least it has been more than 90 minutes of delay in the final game.

The tournament then stopped because of rainfall could prolong the delay time. If the tournament continues after the rain, then foreign golfers are at risk being late to reach the Soekarno – Hatta Airport which is about 75 kilometers from Gunung Geulis golf course.
The number of scores recorded by the golfers during the three-days games in a row (54 holes) determine who has to be the winner of this tournament. Despite the unfriendly weather, all participants, both pro and amateur players played enthusiastically from the beginning to the final.
Won by Shohei Hasegawa
The east course of Gunung Geulis Golf Country Club has a very challenging contour. An exciting and tight competition can actually take place when the weather is bright and clear. The competition between three golfers, Shinichi Mizuno (Japan), John Catlin (USA) and Shohei Hasegawa (Japan) can be an exciting spectacle.
Unfortunately, the rainfall is enough to disturb the tee-times list since Saturday morning. Only about 24 golfers who play up to their 6th hole. The third round must end with Shohei Hasegawa coming out as champion with 10-under par 203.
John Catlin, who played confidently, finally had to settle for third place with a score of 205 under Sydney Chung who was second with 204 score. Indonesian golfer George Gandranata managed to finish fourth with a score of 206.
Meanwhile, another Indonesian golfer Naraadjie Emerald Ramadhan Putra came out as the lowest amateur champion of OB Golf Invitational – ADT 2018 with 1-under score.
