As the second largest island in the Riau Islands, Batam does not have a reputation as good as Bintan Island in terms of golf sport. However, Batam has a golf course with the best natural natural view, one of them is Indah Puri Golf Club in batam. The 18 hole golf course which located on Ir. Sutami Street, Patam, Sekupang, Batam, has a great beach view alongside with a challenging landscape layout for golfers of all levels. The Indah Puri golf course becomes one of the favourite golfing destinations among Singaporean and Malaysian thanks to its good reputation and accessible location. Located on the northwest side of Batam Island, this place is only 6 Km away from the Sekupang ferry terminal, 45 minutes away from Singapore and 15 minutes away from Sekupang. If taking an airplane trip, the Indah Puri golf course is only about 40 minutes away from Hang Nadim airport.
Established in 1993, the Indah Puri golf course was designed by Ronald Fream with international standards and has a length of 6,085 meters. Each championship hole is deliberately designed with its own characteristics to give a different sensation of challenge for the golfer. Ronald Fream designed this golf course using Bermuda grass and Cow Grass on the fairway and Bermuda Tiff Dwarf grass on the green. Nestled amidst beach scenery, natural tropical forest, rolling hills, varied size bunkers and lakes, Indah Puri Golf Club presents the best golf course landscape on the island of Batam. This golf course offers three types of holes which are quite challenging for the golfer. Hole 1 to 5 is a straight forward hole that is quite easy to play for the golfer. The 6th to 10th hole are played toward beautiful ocean views. While the 11th to 18th hole are surrounded by mountain background and has a variety of water hazards that quite challenging for the golfers.
The Indah Puri Golf Club Facilities and Green Fee Rates
The Indah Puri golf course is part of The Indah Puri Golf Resort which has an area of 90 hectares. It’s not surprising, that this golf course has a complete and luxurious of resort facilities, including the following:
- Driving Range
While waiting for a turn to play or to loosen up before tee off, the visitors can try the driving range facility. This driving range facility is open daily except Tuesday from 8am until 6pm. To use this facility, visitors are charged for a rate of S$ 2.00 on weekdays and S$ 3.00 on weekends. - Pro Shop
If you want to buy the latest golf equipment, visitors can buy it at the golf pro shop that is open from 8am until 4pm. Visitors can also rent shoes and hire golf equipment here. - Apartment and Functional Room
The visitors of The Indah Puri Golf Club can stay at the resort-themed apartments with views of the golf course, ocean and Singapore peninsula. There is also a functional room that can be used to hold seminars, business meetings and conferences. - Restaurant
In the Alaman cafe and restaurant, visitors can enjoy local dishes such as chicken satay and nasi kuning or foreign dishes such as Japanese and western food. This restaurant is open from 6am until 7pm. There is also an outdoor bar located in the Block 6 Apartment close to the 5th hole and open from 4pm until 7pm. - Other Facilities
Besides these facilities, there are also other facilities such as locker room, golf car for hire, caddy, tennis court, fitness center, swimming pool, massage facilities and mini market.
Visitors can play golf at Indah Puri golf course every day except Tuesday. Each golfer will be charged a public rate of S$ 135 and S$ 115 for my golf kaki rate on Monday-Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and holiday, golfers are charged at S$ 155 and S$ 135 for my golf kaki rate. This rate includes the shuttle fee from/to Sekupang ferry terminal-Harbourfront Singapore, 18 holes green fee and government tax.
