Ariya Jutanugarn made a surprise at the US Women’s Open championship in Alabama, Sunday or Monday (4/6/2018). After dealing with rain delays, overcoming a lost lead and an airline losing her clubs, the Thai golfer winning the title of major golf tournament after she won the British Open 2016.
This achievement makes Jutanugarn become the first female golfer from Thailand who won the US Open and the British Open. She beat South Korea’s golfer Kim Hyo-joo in the playoffs for the title in the second tournament she followed.

Ariya Jutanugarn doing really well when started the US Women’s Open. Scoring 67-70-67 she was a four-shot lead over Sarah Jane Smith. On Sunday, Jutanugarn seemed unstoppable. She extends her gap from her opponents and leads seven shots after playing on the front side at 4-under par.

After 18 holes, it was a tie. Jutanugarn and Kim must share the league lead position with a total score 277 at 11-under par. So they have to play the playoff to determine the winner of the tournament. In the playoffs at Shoal Creek Jutanugarn scored par in the fourth extra hole.
The second nine holes game very important to Jutanugarn because after leading with seven shots and end up at the playoff, she had lost hope. However, she still gave her best game in the second nine holes and managed to use her last chance very well.
The world number five ranked female golfer gets five birdies from the first 9 holes. But 4 shots made it into 3 holes so she collected a total of 1 over 73. Meanwhile, Kim (Korea) managed to do 5 birdies in 67 free-bogey and end it with 11 under.
